Wooden bamboo terraces are among the most popular types of outdoor flooring. The advantages of a bamboo wood terrace include its natural look and feel, long lifespan, and easy maintenance.
We approach the installation of a bamboo wood terrace thoughtfully and professionally.
A high-quality bamboo wood terrace always rests on a well-built substructure with a suitable base. The ideal base is a concrete slab positioned 6–7 cm below the exit threshold.
A bamboo terrace can also be installed over a gravel base. In this case, we use standard concrete pavers to create a moisture gap. This ensures airflow beneath the deck—otherwise moisture can warp and rot the wood.
The most suitable substructure is made from the same species as the decking boards, since identical wood ages uniformly, preventing uneven weathering that can destabilize the terrace over time.
At Kerowood, we use a substructure of identical bamboo—a rarity among other wood species. Installation can also be carried out on an aluminum substructure.
We fasten the decking boards using Kerowood’s special “invisible” screws and clips.
